Associate Dean for Academic Affairs School of Science, IUPUI

The School of Science at IUPUI seeks an outstanding individual from the IUPUI School of Science to serve in the position of Associate Dean for Academic Affairs. Applicants or nominees should have earned a doctorate degree, hold a full-time tenured faculty position in a School of Science department, proven organizational and administrative skills, and attained a record of accomplishments in undergraduate education.

Guided by the School of Science strategic plan, the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs integrates initiatives to lead and innovate in the areas of curriculum enhancement and undergraduate education. This position ensures efficient and effective administration of policies and procedures in the areas of responsibility listed below that relate specifically to the success of both students and faculty in the School of Science.

Broad areas of responsibility include:

1. Oversight and approval of undergraduate academic policies and procedures
2. Oversight and management of student records and auditing
3. Coordination and support for undergraduate student success
4. Assist the Dean in ongoing strategic priorities

The position is 50% time, involving significant collaboration with the Associate Dean for Student Affairs & Outreach as well as the other Deans. It also involves the supervision of Dean’s office staff including the Executive Director for Academic and Student Affairs and other staff in the Dean’s office. See organizational chart.
