At the School of Science at IUPUI, we pride ourselves on our interdisciplinary approach, extensive undergraduate research opportunities, professional school placements, and service to our students. An education from the School of Science pays off: our students go on to top graduate programs, medical schools, and careers in academia, research, and the private sector.

One of the best kept secrets of the Midwest, IUPUI ranked fifth in the U.S. News & World Report’s list of Up-and-Coming National Universities in 2013 and maintains a spot among the top 100 universities nationally. Situated in the heart of Indianapolis, IUPUI is an urban research and life and health sciences institution near five hospitals and the Indiana University schools of medicine, dentistry and nursing.

IUPUI attracts dynamic students from more than 130 countries. Known as the “Crossroads of America,” Indianapolis is the 13th largest U.S. city and is also home to prestigious international companies such as Eli Lilly, Roche Diagnostics, and Dow AgroSciences. Although IUPUI's student body totals more than 30,000, classroom size in the School of Science remains intimate, with a student to faculty ratio of 17:1.

Our students and faculty alike are passionate about making an impact, and we invite you to join us.

The School of Science at IUPUI is dedicated to conducting fundamental and applied scientific research and providing the highest quality undergraduate education and graduate training. Please see more details in The School of Science 2014-2019 Strategic Plan.

We foster an environment where students can access faculty for personalized mentoring and instruction, and where they can be meaningfully engaged in research and scholarship. The School is committed to providing the state of Indiana and beyond with graduates who possess deep knowledge of modern science and who are fully equipped to be future leaders impacting science, industry, schools and communities.
