**The biostatistics Ph.D. is a joint degree program of the Department of Mathematical Sciences and the Department of Biostatistics in the IU School of Medicine. Both the applied earth sciences Ph.D. and biostatistics Ph.d. are awarded by Indiana University; all other doctorate degrees are awarded by Purdue University.
