School of Science faculty and graduate students are available for classroom visits on an ongoing basis. Whether teachers seek an environmental scientist to explain the importance of water quality, or a physicist to demonstrate the laws of thermodynamics, IUPUI’s School of Science experts can provide K-12 students with an exciting new learning experience.

Discovering the Science of the Environment Mobile Technology Trailer Programs

Utilizing a mobile resource trailer equipped with interactive technology tools, web interface, and GIS mapping capabilities, the DSE program travels to your school to provide FREE educational programming at school ground natural areas. All programs are aligned to Indiana State Standards in science and mathematics and Excellence in Environmental Education - Guidelines for Learning (Pre K - 12), feature hands-on, outdoor scientific investigations and can be individually tailored to suit your surrounding local environment, science and technology education needs, student and teacher knowledge base, and time. IUPUI GK-12 Urban Educators Program

GK-12 Fellows are research graduate students who are working on either an M.S. or a Ph.D. degree, and who dedicate 15 hours per week in nearby school classrooms. The GK-12 fellows apply their university graduate research projects to classrooms and outdoor learning labs, offering teachers and students in grades 6-12 access to current and relevant science concepts.
