This class will cover basic concepts in microbiology, such as the taxonomy and cell structure of Bacteria and Archea, microbial growth and energetics, how these pathways then control global biogeochemical cycling of carbon, nitrogen, sulfur, and various metals in in terrestrial and aqueous environments.
