IUPUI Sport Complex Summer Day Camp: Science Elective

The IUPUI Sport Complex Summer Day Camp has become a leading day camp in Indianapolis. With 24 years of experience, Summer Day Camp offers children ages 5-12 an opportunity to explore many different sports and activities taught in a safe, non-competitive environment. Summer Day Camp is held in the facilities of the IUPUI Sport Complex.

Science Electives Available: June 13 - 17 and June 20 - 24

Childrent who choose the Science & Math Elective will participate in hands-on laboratory and field activities, learning from professors and students of the School of Science at IUPUI. This Academic Elective features exploration that is age-appropriate. Parent participation is built-in, as each exercise incorporates “essential questions” that are intended to facilitate at-home discussions between you and your child. Most of all, your child will have fun while learning more science and mathematics. Programming may include discovery in:

  • Cells and DNA
  • Science and crime
  • Game programming
  • Symmetry and tessellations
  • Geology of the Earth
  • Psychology of visual perception
  • Flight dynamics of rockets
  • Chemical properties of gases

After the Science and Math Academic Elective, your child will have a deeper understanding of the impact that science and mathematics have on our world. Please note that this is a two-week elective. Children must be registered in both weeks of Summer Day Camp in order to participate.
