Forensic Science

Forensic Science chair, Dr. Jay Siegel

Forensic science is the application of scientific methods to the analysis of evidence that is used in criminal and civil courts. It is highly multidisciplinary; involving virtually all of the physical and natural sciences, but especially chemistry and biology.

The School of Science began its bachelor of science program in forensic science in 2003.  It was the first bachelors program of its kind in Indiana, and today remains the only nationally accredited forensic science program in the state.  IUPUI Science launched a new master of science program in forensic science in 2008.
