Graduate Funding Opportunities

Full-time thesis M.S. and Ph.D. students are eligible for a variety of university and department support packages. Students may receive stipends through teaching assistantships, research assistantships, and fellowships. Students with fellowships and assistantships are also eligible for health insurance.
In addition to stipend support, full-time students may receive fee remission that pays most of the tuition cost.
Support packages vary by department. For details, please contact your department of interest.
The IUPUI Urban Educators GK-12 Program (Graduate Teaching Fellows in K-12 Education Program), funded by the National Science Foundation, provides competitive fellowships ($30,000/year) for graduate students in the IUPUI School of Science and the IU School of Medicine. GK-12 Fellows are research graduate students who are working on either an M.S. or a Ph.D. degree, and who dedicate 15 hours per week in nearby school classrooms. The GK-12 fellows apply their university graduate research projects to classrooms and outdoor learning labs, offering teachers and students in grades 6-12 access to current and relevant science concepts.
