Senior biology student named IUPUI's 2014 most outstanding male student

INDIANAPOLIS -- Benjamin Judge, a School of Science senior, was named the most outstanding male student at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis for 2014. A record 12 Science students were named to the Top 20. The selection of IUPUI outstanding students was announced at the Top 100 Outstanding Students Recognition Dinner on April 11.

Sujay Chandorkar, John Fierst, Vinayak Gupta, Benjamin Judge, Brandon Kellinghaus and Christian Lee were honored in the Top 10 Male Students. Hardeep Dhillon, Jheel Patel, Hayley Grzych, Emily Potts, Marina Sharif and Leah Van Antwerp were named to the Top 10 Female Students.

Selection of the 2014 most outstanding students began with faculty and staff nominating more than 1,400 students. From the top 100 female and male students, a panel of alumni, faculty and staff chose the top 10 female and male students. The IUPUI Alumni Council and the Student Organization for Alumni Relations (SOAR) sponsor the event.

Students are selected in recognition of their scholastic achievement, extracurricular activities on campus, and civic and community service. To be considered outstanding, students had to meet several criteria, including being a degree-seeking junior or senior at IUPUI; completing a minimum of 56 credit hours applicable to her/his degree program; and achieving a minimum cumulative GPA of at least 3.0.
