Current Research
My primary research interests center on the chemical and microbial reactions that occur during early diagenesis with a view toward understanding the evolution of ocean chemistry and early life. The biogeochemical cycles of recent sediments provide a modern analog for understanding processes that occurred throughout geologic time. I am interested in tracing the substrate and products of biogeochemical alterations through the application of bulk stable isotopic analysis and redox-sensitive metals chemistry. Visit lab website.
