Simon Rhodes, PhD, DeanSchool of Science Dean Simon Rhodes has been a member of the IUPUI faculty since 1995.

At the School of Science at IUPUI, we pride ourselves on our interdisciplinary approach, extensive undergraduate research opportunities, professional school placements, and service to our students. Situated in the heart of Indianapolis, IUPUI is an urban research and life and health sciences institution near five hospitals and the Indiana University schools of medicine, dentistry and nursing.

Our Mission

The School of Science at IUPUI provides outstanding basic science education for all IUPUI students, education in depth for students in our School, and engages in fundamental and applied research in the physical, biological, mathematical, and psychological sciences in order to increase scientific knowledge and advance the development of the life sciences at IUPUI and in the State of Indiana

Our Vision

Our vision is for the School of Science to be recognized nationally and in the state of Indiana as the “school of choice” for students who desire a first-rate interdisciplinary science education. We will also be a leader in interdisciplinary research that benefits all, especially the people of Indiana.
