Instructor Positions in Mathematical Sciences

The Department of Mathematical Sciences at IUPUI invites applications for part-time instructors to begin August 1, 2019. Responsibilities include: teaching a maximum of 9 credit hours each semester typically in math for introductory and developmental math courses. 

As one of the largest academic units on campus serving more than 13,000 students each year, the Department is central to the mission of IUPUI to advance the State of Indiana and the intellectual growth of its citizens to the highest levels. The Department, with a faculty of 52, offers programs of study leading to Purdue University B.S, M.S., and Ph.D. degrees, including a Ph.D. in Mathematics with specialization in Pure Math, Applied Math or Mathematical Statistics, an M.S. in Applied Statistics and a B.S. in Mathematics with concentration in Pure Math, Applied Math, Actuarial Science or Math Education. The Department also offers a Ph.D. degree in biostatics in collaboration with the Departments of Biostatics in the IU School of Public Health and the IU School of Medicine.

Qualifications: The Department seeks highly qualified candidates who have a strong commitment to excellence in teaching introductory mathematics and statistics courses. Candidates should have at least a Master's degree (with a preference for a Ph.D.) in mathematics, math education, statistics or a closely related field. Successful candidates should have a record of high quality teaching in introductory mathematics and statics courses and have the ability and interest to work with a diverse student population. Candidates should have the desire to improve conditions in and access to higher education for underrepresented students.
